Geriatric Medicine is focused on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of illness in patients 75 years of age or older. The goal is to help older Canadians meet their long-term care needs, improve their quality of life, and maintain their independence for as long as possible. Geriatric care combines health and psychological care with other services such as housing, home care services, nutritional services, assistance with daily living to promote independence, and socialization programs. For more information on geriatric care and services please visit the Toronto Central Health Line.
